Emily sees clients ages 13 through adulthood. Emily sees individuals who want to improve their relationship with body image, self-acceptance, and increase resiliency during stage of life changes.
My Background and Approach
Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Alaska Pacific University. She utilizes her work and training in diverse settings to provide dynamic therapy to people who experience depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, and eating disorders. Emily believes in collaborating with her clients to enhance resiliency, increase self-acceptance, and emotion regulation. In her practice, she utilizes therapeutic techniques including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and RCT (Relational-Cultural Therapy). She is also trained in the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) Framework. She is knowledgeable on issues related to intergenerational trauma, and culturally informed care.
