About My Clients
I have had the privilege of working with people who enjoy a variety of kinks and fetishes, ranging from ABDL and age players, to Furries and Pups, to Hotwives and more. I am well-versed in supporting Switches navigate the duality of their needs; Doms manage the vulnerability of Top Drop; and Subs negotiate contracts with intentionality. Whether you are new to exploring your kinks or realizing a need for more like-minded community, I provide a safe and non-judgmental space.
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma-informed Narrative therapist, who also provides EMDR for deeper trauma healing and emphasizes Harm Reduction for changing behaviors. My therapeutic approach is active, collaborative, and compassionate. While I believe silence can be helpful a times, I am someone who will ask you direct questions to help you get clear on your wants, needs, and boundaries. We will hold space together and use skills to help ground, so you can safely feel through any overwhelming feelings. I will also provide you with a framework for more effective communication and lead you through roles plays and rehearsal to build up your confidence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
On Culture: I believe it’s not just important but necessary to broach cultural similarities and differences with my client, as the many facets of identity impact how we show up and experience the world. For example, I recognize that being a white, queer, cis-female millennial influences the therapeutic alliances I create and services I offer. On Scheduling: I believe that therapy is an investment in the self. Building trust and safety with a new therapist takes time and energy. Therefore, I strongly encourage and expect new clients to schedule weekly appointments for at least the first couple months. On Advocacy: I believe my role is to be both counselor and advocate. Coming from non-profit healthcare, I am committed to helping my clients reduce barriers to quality mental health and substance use care, as well as connect with additional supportive resources.
