About My Clients
Does your mind jump from one worry to the next? Are you struggling to stay present because you're caught in cycles of anxious rumination? Maybe you doubt every decision you make. You may feel like you're struggling to manage your emotions, like it's hard to bounce back when something goes wrong, and it's causing you to feel bad about yourself. I get it! My goal is to help you break free from cycles of anxiety and doubt, and to build self- trust.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention, as well as several relational and attachment based therapies, including those that support new moms and parents. I am also a highly sensitive person knowledgeable therapist. I pull from these modalities in my work, depending on need, taking an eclectic approach. I don't believe there's a one size fits all approach to therapy, and if we begin therapy, I'll collaborate with you to find the best approach. Research has shown that the biggest predictor of success in therapy is your relationship with your therapist. That being said, it will be my highest priority to create a strong relationship with you. I really enjoy working with adolescents, young adults and adults who are going through life transitions such as moving to a new city, starting college or a new career or becoming a parent. These moments can be exciting but also anxiety ridden. I'd be honored to help you through them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m originally from southeastern Michigan, and have lived in New York, California, Morocco and Colombia as an adult. I speak Spanish and enjoy learning about cultures different from my own. In 2017, I began a graduate degree in clinical social work at USC, following a lifelong desire for a career that allows me to serve others. After graduate school, I spent years working with mothers, parents, young children and families - including those affected by OCD. It was through that work that I discovered my passion for helping anxious, obsessive and highly sensitive people. I deeply value diversity. Since I speak Spanish fluently, I can provide therapy in Spanish. I grew up practicing a non dominant religion, and am now a mother and member of a mixed race family. Both experiences have heightened my appreciation of diversity, and have helped me connect with clients from a variety of different backgrounds.
