Just like any other group, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) community faces mental health issues and unique challenges. However, LGBTQ individuals are almost 3 times more likely than others to experience a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, more than half of individuals who identify as transgender experience depression or anxiety. The LGBTQ community is also at a higher risk for suicide. Young people are even more at risk, as they may experience a lack of support at home and fear, hatred or prejudice in school. If you are a member of the LGBTQ community and are facing mental health challenges, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Reach out to one of TherapyDen’s LGBTQ experts and get help today.

I care for patients ages 15+ who come from a diversity of backgrounds. This practice is ideal for busy professionals, executives, and stressed out college students. A common theme for my clients is feeling burned out in work or life. You won't be one of 35 clients seen in a week, which is typical in most practices. Instead you will have a dedicated, compassionate psychologist provide you the most evidence-based psychological therapy, coaching, or consultation.

Is anxiety, self-doubt, or painful memories keeping you awake at night? Are you having trouble focusing on important tasks during the day because you are constantly worrying about things? Anxious thoughts can be like bullies pushing you around, preventing you from being present and enjoying life. Often the clients I work with feel overwhelmed by stress, worries, and the daily pressures of life and want to feel less consumed by these things, and feel more present and engaged in their lives.

I work with adults who want to process past trauma and relearn how to feel safe in the present. I often work with people who grew up in dysfunctional families, and have experienced neglect and abuse in close relationships. These experiences often lead to secondary challenges such as depression, anxiety, and relational difficulties. I work with clients to reconnect to their authentic selves. As a queer-identified therapist, I also provide affirming care for individuals from the LGBTQ+ community.

The clients I see often arrive having already endured so much. They see themselves as a neurodivergent individual, an LGBTQIA+ individual, or someone with relational trauma. For many this has manifested in an anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, or Autism diagnosis. For many, it has not. My clients experience a collaborative and safe environment to challenge some of the narratives life has given us and become the person they want to be.
