About My Clients
I specialize in working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. However, my approach is not a one size fits all formula. I tailor my work to the individual and their specific needs. I am especially moved to work with clients who are navigating major life transitions and are aware of the need for additional support to thrive amidst the changes.
My Background and Approach
The therapeutic relationship and its safe environment are necessary to begin the healing process. Thus I aim to create a warm, friendly, and welcoming space where we can explore what’s happening in your current life to collaborate on what might be possible for you. We can then partner to understand what burdens you’ve taken on from your past that may have limited your belief systems and/or distorted your experience of a loving reality. We will do this through a compassionate inquiry process called Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a powerful and transformative evidence-based model of psychotherapy. IFS believes that we are all multiple and made up of different parts while being contained and held by an attuned and boundless Self. This Self is the healing agent in the system that allows for release and the unburdening of parts' deeply held aloneness and suffering.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through my own healing experiences with the IFS model, I believe it is a safe and effective treatment for people who want to have a deeper relationship with themselves and the world at large. By healing the internal, we can transform the external. Although some parts of ourselves can be challenging and hard for us and others to accept, by getting to know them from the vantage point of this deeply wise, compassionate, and courageous Self, we can feel their benevolent intentions, heal their pain, and help them return to the supportive roles they were meant to play. My deepest belief is that you are, and always will be, your greatest teacher. I consider my role as your therapist to be a helpful facilitator along the way.
