About My Clients
If you feel anxious, sad, overwhelmed or stuck, if you are frustrated by your family or relationships, struggling to feel confident in yourself or your career path, or are worn out by disordered eating, my practice may be a good fit for you. I specialize in treating anxiety and stress in people who have traditionally viewed themselves as high achievers, but who find that they aren't as happy as they thought they would be.
My Background and Approach
My therapy style is collaborative, warm, and nonjudgmental, with room for humor. I use a blend of concrete, skill building techniques to help you start to feel better quickly, while also incorporating deeper, insight-oriented strategies so that you gain an understanding of what led to these concerns, and how to avoid them in the future. My therapy sessions are interactive and conversational. Together, we will work to improve your symptoms, gain a deeper understanding of your concerns and bring about lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am firmly supportive of individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, faiths and national origins, full stop. I have felt particularly privileged to work with trans clients at all stages of exploration and transition, am sex positive/kink-friendly, and work often with clients who are non-monogamous or childfree. I encourage exploration of intersectionality with all clients, and find this particularly fulfilling with individuals of color or first-generation American members of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you are confident in your identities or beginning to explore and learn more about yourself, I look forward to supporting you in your path forward. While I do not currently treat suicidality, I spent three years volunteering for the Sunday 9pm to midnight shift at the National Suicide Hotline before pursuing my doctorate. It left me with a deep appreciation for human resilience through pain, and the importance of pets to our mental health.
