About My Clients

Individuals continue to exist and survive after trauma by using a myriad of internalized strategies. Do you have symptoms of anxiety, depression, or a feeling of unidentifiable pain? We hold onto the tools that once kept us safe. Whatever reason has brought you to seek therapy in this moment, it is no doubt unique to you -- as will be your healing journey. It is my firm belief that you are the authority on your life. Together, we can support you to thrive!

My Background and Approach

I am a trauma informed, somatic psychotherapist, with a masters degree in clinical counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies. My work is greatly influenced by humanistic, relational and liberation modalities. As a somatic psychotherapist, I look to see how trauma exists in your body. I will engage you to think about the strategies you've had to implement in order to survive after chronic and/or acute trauma. Due to the resilient nature of humans we continue to manage regardless of traumatic experience. I understand that the way we manage is by creating survival techniques to stay as safe as possible, those techniques often become the rules we live by. I will invite you to explore your safety strategies at a cognitive and somatic level in order to foster new tools and strategies that are grounded in the person you want to be. I support clients in strengthening their nervous systems and discovering and developing new strategies that allow for vitality and presence.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the capacity of humans to heal and experience health. Therapy is an opportunity to develop and deepen your relationship to who you are and who you are yearning to become. I work collaboratively and intuitively with you to determine a therapy style that will best serve your needs. I believe that if we listen to our bodies and learn how to listen to our nervous systems we can gain information about our needs, our desires, and our healing trajectory. As a somatic-psychotherapist, it is my belief that the mind and body are deeply engaged and connected, even when it might not feel that way. I offer a space for the mind and body to dialogue and unite.
