About My Clients
Do you feel stressed, exhausted, unfulfilled, and disconnected? When triggered do you shut down, have unexpected emotions, overthink, or dissociate? Have you been successful at work or school, but feel like you've lost yourself in the process? Maybe you carry the weight of unresolved past trauma or long to heal attachment wounds that make it hard to feel secure and build healthy relationships. If any of these experiences apply to you, I want you to know you are not alone, and therapy can help.
My Background and Approach
If you're a driven, analytical, creative, or deeply thoughtful individual, you may approach life with curiosity but still find yourself struggling with anxiety, relationships, trauma, identity, or a sense of disconnection from your emotions. I strive to create a safe, affirming space where you may freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and identity. I am a queer, secular therapist with over a decade of experience, an M.A. in Counseling, a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology, and certification in EMDR by EMDRIA. Depending on your preferences, needs, and goals for therapy, I will integrate different evidence-based approaches. We can work on practical skills like emotion regulation and boundary-setting, while also addressing deeper patterns and past experiences. Therapy may be able to help you learn new coping skills, decrease painful emotions and negative thoughts about yourself related to past events, and become more resilient.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
One of the reasons I became a therapist is my own recovery, which helped me discover joy and meaning in life. As a self-proclaimed nerd with a BA in Chemistry, I value curiosity, the scientific method, and lifelong learning. When I’m not working or parenting my two children, I enjoy reading, creative writing, spending time outside, and going for long walks. I treasure simple moments like finding the moon, laughing, or looking at a weird bug (preferably outdoors). My goal is to help you discover your own path to healing and growth, and to support you with cultivating a sense of purpose and balance in your life.
