About My Clients

As a Couple and Family Therapist, I specialize in virtual services for couples, families, polycules, and individuals. Research suggests therapy is most effective when there is a good fit between therapist and client. While expertise in what you’re dealing with is one area that predicts a good fit, personality, approach, shared experiences, values, and world view can also be important. Read more to determine if I might be a good fit for you.

My Background and Approach

If you’re searching for a quiet, reserved therapist who nods a lot, and asks “How does that make you feel?” I’m probably not the therapist for you. On the other hand if you’re wanting someone with a more direct approach who is focused on digging in with you to help identify and change unhelpful patterns, beliefs, and behaviors in your life and relationships, then I’m your person. Relationships are my area of expertise. Whether you’re wanting to improve your relationship with yourself or others, I can help. I have extensive experience with relational conflict, life transitions, communication skills, intimacy/sexual issues, divorce, blended families, and trauma. Prior to becoming a therapist I was an adult sex educator so I’m passionate about helping you navigate issues that get in the way of the sexual relationships you desire. If you’re wanting to improve your sex life know I'm poly and LGBTQIA+ affirmative, kink knowledgeable, and a professional affiliate of KAP.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a culturally sensitive, social justice focused, LGBTQIA/poly affirmative, and kink-aware therapist, I am equipped to help you explore how your social locations impact your areas of concern. Hold the Vision Therapy affirms that Black Lives Matter, Trans Lives Matter, Black Trans Lives Matter, sex work is work, people are not illegal, abortion is healthcare, ableism exists, and there is health at every size. The practice advocates for intersectional justice, racial liberation, Land Back, and Indigenous Sovereignty. I recognize my positions of power and privilege in and out of the therapy room and examine how it and my personal dimensions of culture impact you and the therapeutic relationship. I acknowledge we live in an imperialist white supremacist capitalist patriarchal culture that harms all yet provides power & privilege for who it was designed to elevate. I am committed to consistently doing the life-long internal and external work of dismantling oppressive systems.
