About My Clients
Life can sometimes feel like being in a car wash—things are coming at you from all sides, you can't see clearly through the suds...and, somehow you are stuck in place while being pushed forward at the same time! Times like these can be confusing, anxiety-provoking, and very stressful. Whether you are struggling with relationship challenges, career confusion, or feeling lost during a big life adjustment, I can help you make sense of things and find a clear path forward.
My Background and Approach
I view therapy as a collaborative process where we work together to understand your goals, identify solutions, and establish healthier ways of coping. My therapeutic approach is integrative, I pull from a number of different modalities depending on the unique needs of my clients. I earned my graduate degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to studying psychology, I spent my early career working in the marketing industry. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I studied journalism and music.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I provide therapy with the Chicago Therapy Working Group, working with clients to reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, and emotional turbulence so they can feel good about their relationships, work, and life overall. Having been in therapy myself, I know how important it is to "click" with your therapist. Clients have described me as warm, patient, and open-minded. In sessions, I use curiosity, humor, and "gentle directness" to guide our conversations. Together, we will discuss your challenges, come up with a plan, and work on skills to help you cope with life’s ups and downs. Outside of work, I am a musician, a nature enthusiast, a podcast geek, and a mom. I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicities, genders, gender identities, gender expressions, national origins, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, ability – and other visible and nonvisible differences.
