About My Clients
My goal as a therapist is to support my clients in healing, learning new ways to cope with their challenges, and cultivating insight. I specialize in treating adults and emerging adults experiencing life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. I have expertise working with women (including professionals, creatives, and those navigating pregnancy and motherhood).
My Background and Approach
I bring warmth and compassion to my work. I draw on my training in multiple evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and insight-oriented, psychodynamic, and relational approaches. I empower my clients by building on their existing strengths and resiliencies, supporting healing and change, and collaborating to cultivate new ways of coping, consistent with their goals. I received my BA in philosophy from Duke University and my PhD from NYU, completing a fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine and postdoctoral training at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University. In addition to working as a therapist, I am on faculty at Columbia, where I maintain an active program of research.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At the core of my work as a therapist is my deep belief in the human capacity for healing, growth, fulfillment, and joy. Before pursuing graduate studies, I worked in management consulting and public relations both domestically and abroad. Feel free to reach out for a phone consultation—I would be delighted to connect, answer your questions, and see if I might be able to help.
