My training surrounding Autism Spectrum Disorder began while teaching and continued while working as a therapist. I taught special education, for ten years, in a self-contained classroom, educating children that were diagnosed with a variety of emotional disorders, including those on the spectrum. My last two years teaching I worked solely with students diagnosed with Autism, from high functioning to severe autism, non-verbal. As a therapist, I have worked with many clients on the spectrum.

I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and teens. The certification requires extensive work with individuals ages 6-17, documented hours and supervision as well as monthly consults on cases, for two years. I also worked with the crisis team at a community mental health agency and provided on call crisis services as well as facilitating a crisis stabilization group five to seven days weekly. I am a trainer for the Crisis Assessment Team.

I have provided therapy to couples and relationships for the duration of my time as a therapist, which is 15 years. I am currently certified in Gottman Method Level 1 and at this time I am pursuing Gottman Level 2. I hope to complete Gottman Level 3 by the end of 2025, at which time I can begin offering training for other therapists. I enjoy working with couples and providing assessments that reveal areas of concerns as well as providing strategies to rebuild trust, communication and validation.

I have worked with couples and relationships for over 15 years. I am currently certified in Level I of the Gottman Method and pursing Level 2. My goal is to complete all three levels of the Gottman Method. In couples counseling, I take the approach that trust is the foundation of the relationship with communication, validation and compromise making the walls. The ceiling is viewed as shared goals for the future.

As a therapist I knew that Integrative Therapy was what I wanted to provide for clients working with me. Integrative Therapy allows for the combination of different types of therapy modalities. For example, CBT or DBT may work well for one person and not so well for another. I have worked on blending skills for the last 15 years, while providing therapy designed to be person centered and very individualized for each client. By integrating strategies and skills each client gets what they need

My career as a therapist includes 10 years of providing crisis therapy and crisis stabilization services for individuals experiencing trauma. During those ten years I noticed that trauma therapy was often not provided for children and teenagers, so I obtained certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is specifically designed for those populations. I have worked with ages 4-17 years old to help process a variety of traumas through developing personal narratives.
