About My Clients
Experiencing harm & rejection from caregivers, family of origin, or partners can wound us deeply. Painful memories overshadow your daily life. You find yourself in similar relationships, making yourself small to get some semblance of love & safety. You spend so much energy anticipating & attending to others’ needs, that yours are overlooked. You feel like you have abandoned yourself. You’re ready to heal & embrace your full, authentic self & are looking for the right support for this journey.
My Background and Approach
My work has been dedicated to serving survivors of unhealthy relationships & interpersonal trauma (e.g. intimate partner violence, sexual assault, community violence, immigration trauma, intergenerational trauma, & systemic & historical oppression). I’ve also specialized in supporting people living with HIV, complex health issues, chronic pain, & substance use. I've worked extensively with gender-expansive (Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, Genderqueer, etc.) clients, providing therapy and WPATH letters. I am a compassionate, experienced, & affirming therapist, working from a feminist & liberatory framework. I take an eclectic approach & tailor the therapy process based on each client's needs and goals. I draw on the following modalities: ACT, DBT, Mindfulness/MBSR, Expressive Arts Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Seeking Safety & Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment. *I accept Optum, Optum EAP, & Spring Health EAP*
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a white, queer, cisgender able-bodied woman with lived experience relevant to my work. I think about identity, suffering & healing in the context of the oppressive systems that impact peoples’ lives (e.g. patriarchy, white supremacy, homophobia, transphobia, racism, xenophobia, fatphobia, etc.), & understand that healing ourselves in turn benefits our loved ones & communities. I spent the last 15 years working in public health settings serving folks who have been historically & systemically oppressed & have a demonstrated deep commitment to anti-racism learning & systemic change. I am aware of the power dynamics that exist in a therapeutic relationship, especially when our identities differ & welcome this often-avoided issue into the room. No need to perform or edit yourself. This is a chance to show up as your full brave self. My goal is to create a space in which you can feel seen, understood, believed, & in which your lived experience and your values are centered.
