About My Clients
People come to see me when they have trouble in their relationships. They feel anxious or as if they have to walk on eggshells around those they love out of fear of losing them. They push aside their needs for others, notice they are in "toxic" relationships though can't set boundaries, and feel burnt out from overworking and overhelping. Usually, when clients come to me, it isn't their "first rodeo." They are tired of re-hashing their past to a therapist who just nods.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach and trauma-informed approach with all of my clients. I encourage folks to learn specific skills to help them flourish in their relationships, regulate their emotions, and become badasses in all areas of their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all people have the potential for change if they want it. When helping others, I consider their geographical location, race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, socioeconomic status, gender expression, health status, current relationships, trauma history, and family history (even generational trauma) to help us make lasting changes. Everyone is unique, and that needs to be taken into consideration. I don't think it is good practice not to consider all of the differing micro and macro factors that play a role in a person's life.
