About My Clients
I have experience in providing counseling and support for individuals who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, anger issues, domestic violence, childhood abuse, family scapegoating, workplace bullying/mobbing, racial discrimination, grief, loss, substance use disorders, and suicidal ideation.
My Background and Approach
During trauma, you develop coping behaviors that help you survive that are no longer serving you and can even be hurting you. I can help you unlearn those behaviors and work towards change by challenging unhelpful thinking patterns and re-evaluating negative core beliefs. I can help you achieve your desired changes through a solid therapeutic alliance, collaboration and active participation, focusing on the problem, and goal setting. I utilize a person-centered approach to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients and create a safe place.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a very dedicated counselor, sensitive and attentive to my client’s needs. I am flexible in my approach, knowledgeable, warm and empathetic. I am respectful to all clients regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or culture. I am able to develop and maintain a productive therapeutic relationship where boundaries are kept. I am also very respectful of client’s confidentiality and display personal integrity. I believe that the biggest predictor of change is the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the counselor and client and that trauma is healed through safe relationships.
