My Background and Approach
My primary clinical focus has been treating adults from diverse backgrounds with anxiety and panic disorders, mood disorders, trauma, self-esteem issues, relational distress, adjustment, and multicultural issues. I draw upon principles of CBT, Narrative and Trauma Therapy, Inner Child Work, Attachment theory, Psychodynamic Theory, and Mindfulness-Based Practices and have experience with individual and group work in South Asia and U.S.A.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is important to me to recognize the complexity of human life experiences that shape perceptions, beliefs, and unmet needs. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients, and highlighting your personal strengths as a catalyst to develop insight and cultivate lifestyle changes to alleviate distress. Rooted in Person-Centered and Relational approaches, I strive to establish a trusting, occasionally humorous, and validating therapeutic alliance which fosters deeper levels of empowerment, personal growth, and self-acceptance.
