About My Clients
It takes courage to be honest about how you're really feeling and get the resources you need while working through life issues, challenges, or traumatic experiences. In this process, clients reach out when they're navigating varying degrees of distress and overwhelm, and they're looking for further support. I work collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths, expand their ways of coping, and improve the relationships they have with themselves and others.
My Background and Approach
As your counselor I will meet you where you are and work diligently to create trust and safety in our relationship so you can bravely share your troubles and explore the patterns in your life that are no longer serving you. I aim to create a therapeutic space that's warm, nonjudgmental and accepting. My clinical interests include PTSD/trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, LGBTQ+. My approach is trauma-informed and I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, humanistic-existentialism, mindfulness and somatic awareness. While I believe you to be the expert in your own life, I also believe you don't need to walk your path alone. With the right support, therapeutic tools, and commitment to the deep work, new healing pathways from within you can emerge, and it would be an honor to work together to allow those healing pathways within you to shine.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Since 2019 I've worked as a rape crisis counselor for San Francisco Women Against Rape. For my positionality, I identify as a white, queer woman with access to class privilege. I am aware of the political, economic, socio-cultural and racist injustices inherent in the systems through which we live, relate and operate. I recognize the traumatic impact systemic oppressions can have on a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing – especially on those who hold marginalized identities. I aim to offer a private therapy practice that centers social justice, is anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, anti-racist, and affirms and celebrates the value of difference.
